Hey there! Long time no blog

Seems like it’s been a while since I posted new stuff. I have accumulated quite a few photos over the last month so I have a lot to share. During our trip to Louisiana last month I was able to get lots of family pics. It was so nice to see my family again…cousins, aunts and uncles that I haven’t seen in so many years. I have many more photos but here are just a few. This is my niece, Brooklyn and nephew Julien. These kids are growing like weeds!

My Grandma holding Asa’s hand right before we left for the funeral. He hadn’t had a nap yet and as I snapped this I could tell it was going to be bad…and he was.

Once we got back home, Sean’s mom, niece and nephew flew in from San Diego. I took this of Darrian and BJ in my backyard. God they’re cute! I just love them to pieces. I plan to take some group shots of the 3 kids together before they leave. Look for those soon!

The following weekend I recieved my much anticipated speed flash! This is the VERY FIRST picture I took with it. I literally stuck it on my camera and snapped at whatever in the world Asa was doing. It looks like he is right next to an open window with natural light coming in doesn’t it? However, this is in my very dark living room around 8 or 9 pm. Pretty awesome right?!

I was so excited!! I thought “This flash and I are gonna have a beautiful friendship.” But alas, the flash is a lot harder than it looks!!!! I just got lucky on that first shot. It really is hit or miss. Got a lot to learn! Here are a few samples using my flash. I do love it when they come out right though. I’ve been restricted to outdoor shooting only and it’s so cool to have a different look to your photography.
In case you’re wondering about this pic…that is not a gun he is holding. ha! After I put it up here I realized it kinda looks like he’s holding a REAL gun. It’s a black lizard sculpture from Mexico…and I was bribing him with it.

Oh, and by the way, Asa really says that…all the time. And he usually says it right after a good belly laugh. “I can’t belweve dat!” Makes me crack up just thinking about it. I wonder where he picked that up from…
And these shots are back to my ol’ faithful natural light. Had to take a break from that flash. It can really drive you MAD!

I’m not sure why…but I really like this picture. “Sub” urban cowboy maybe…hehe.

My favorite from this outdoor excursion.

Well, that’s it for now. Hopefully you enjoyed my pictures. Please feel free to leave comments!
