The Dude

…is 5.  Can’t believe it. It’s hard to even say. Asa is 5. I have a 5 year old child. Na, na, no that can’t possibly be right.  But it is. In May 2005 I brought home the most beautiful little red, crying, squirmy creature I had ever laid eyes on. And he was mine and I was totally freaked that I was his mama. And WE were responsible for this child’s upbringing. What a terrfying thought. What if we do something wrong or make a mistake? I remember thinking “who okay’d this? Shouldn’t I have taken a test or something?”  Mistakes were definitely made along the way (and still are) but that’s life right? Every day is a learning experience for both parties when you’re the first.

Here are just a few photos from his official 5 year session. I did these in honor of him starting Kindergarten in the Fall. Aren’t they cute? Will share more later. We are very proud of this boy and can’t wait to see how he continues to amaze us in big kid school. Love you big boy.

Kelly M. - Aw, Jenny... the biggest mistake you make is doubting yourself. To Asa, you are the perfect mom, because you are his and you love him. Congrats on making it the first 5 years... and Happy Birthday to Asa!

Sarah Ryland - Wow ..... what a HANDSOME dude!! It has been a blessing to watch him grow up via your website. Thanks for sharing and thanks Asa for all the posing your mom makes you do. Jenny, as parents all we can do is to do what we think is the best in the moment. We all make mistakes and yet our kids somehow survive and thrive into adulthood. Who'da thunk it!!

Jenny - Thank you for the sweet words!
