I met up with The Steele Family for photos and an evening of capturing good times the other day. I instantly hit it off with their three ridiculously sweet and beautiful children. I also discovered the Steeles are originally from Louisiana and moved to Big D after hurricane Katrina. So we shared some good ol’...

Steele Family
- Great pictures!
- Jenny, I just cried when I saw these! Thank you so much for agreeing to take these pictures. You have really captured some VERY sweet moments that this family will cherish forever. You are an amazing artist! I wanted to add to your blog that this Saturday the 21st of August we will be holding a Silent Auction and Dinner benefiting this wonderful family. 6pm is when it starts, but of course anyone can come and go. Location is Woodcreek Church 3400 E. Renner Road, Richardson, TX 75082. I can't thank you enough! Cory Biddick
- BEAUTIFUL family...BEAUTIFUL pictures...memories that will last forever
- It still amazes me, Jenny, how you capture the pure souls of anyone you photograph. My prayers are with this beautiful family~

family
Well, well, well…I am finally venturing back into blog land. It’s been an eventful month to say the least. We finally moved into our new place after a nail biting week and a half of homelessness. We’re still not fully unpacked but it’s starting to feel like home. Buying and selling a home is not...
- These are GREAT pictures of the kids, Jen. Makes me very lonesome.
- Wonderful photos, Jenny! Will you be posting more family shots from Galveston? As for Asa .... remember to step back and see humor in each moment. It keeps you from losing your sanity ...... been there ..... done that ..... my boys are still alive. You have a wonderful talent for photography but I certainly understand the need to be with your children. You'll do great!
- Jenny, looks like you had a great time! I have also felt the 'what are we doing wrong' feeling with my oldest child and the thing that has helped me the most is this great parenting book that I found. It was like a lightbulb going off as I read it and just really thought it made a lot of sense. It is called The Power of Positive Parenting by Glen Latham. We have tried to apply what we have learned and it has helped so much! Good luck!
- Thank you Amy Jo! I will definitely look into this book.
- Hey Aunt Sara, no that's probably it for the Galveston pics. I do have the group shots on snapfish and I can share them with you.
- My Dear Sis, You are a fantastic mother and Asa is all boy. So many variables in his life are changing at once, It seems natural for Asa to "fight the power." He will find his niche in school. He'll find buddies and they will also shape each other's behavior. These buddies will be your back up possey. I felt like I had failed Austin, he and Asa are so alike. I had to start learning to question the source. You spend more time with Asa than any pre-school teacher/daycare worker. You deal with his behavior and make him face consequences. I think the people recruited to work in these facilities, while they are mostly kind and loving, are not always professionals. Make your decision if these "professionals" did access the situation correctly or did Asa just demand the attention they should have been giving the job in the first place. I love you, I love Asa, Chloe and Sean. What you are going through is not easy but I am so proud of how you are handleing everything. You are a great Mother.
- OMG!!! I love these! I miss y'all! The clarity of the picture of Chloe in mid swing...wow, great camera! Love your mad skillz ;)
- Jenny, I missed your posts so much! I look in here for new shots almost daily and (no exaggeration here) its pretty thrilling when there are new photos to admire. As long as I have known you, you've doubted yourself as a mom... and, as long as I have known you, your kids have been happy and healthy and SMART. So ease up on yourself a little, okay? :-)
back in a jiffy…
Hello friends! I am in the process of moving and will be out of touch for a few weeks. (literally and figuratively) haha. I will still have email on my phone but my computer will be in storage for at least a week while we get settled, so I will not be able to place...
- I love photos like this. Your amazing!
- Thank you!
Amy & Ayah – Grapevine,Tx
I met Amy & her gorgeous daughter, Ayah, in downtown Grapevine last week. Wow, what a blast! And what a cute town Grapevine is. I definitely want to shoot there again. Miss Ayah was a little shy at first but as you can see she quickly warmed up to show her true spunky redhead personality. And speaking...
Keller Wedding – Jamie + Kyle
Jamie & Kyle’s wedding took place on her family’s horse farm in Keller, TX. The day was incredible…perfect clear sky weather; amazing details; and a couple completely crazy about each other. I’m absolutely thrilled and honored to have documented their union.
this one below is my absolute favorite…as they finished walking down the aisle as newly husband &...
Melisa + Mike
Have you ever had a really awesome friend and the guy you’re dating has a really awesome friend too…and you think maybe these two awesome friends should meet? So goes this lovely couple’s story…
To start, Melisa is my girl. A bestie. My “3am friend”. You know, that friend you can call at 3am to come bail you...
- Those are awesome pictures of Melisa and Mike - really great photography! Kudos Jenny!
- GREAT pictures, Jen. What a cute couple.
- Can't you just feel their love? Great pics!!!
The Dude
…is 5. Can’t believe it. It’s hard to even say. Asa is 5. I have a 5 year old child. Na, na, no that can’t possibly be right. But it is. In May 2005 I brought home the most beautiful little red, crying, squirmy creature I had ever laid eyes on. And he was mine and I was totally freaked that I...
- Aw, Jenny... the biggest mistake you make is doubting yourself. To Asa, you are the perfect mom, because you are his and you love him. Congrats on making it the first 5 years... and Happy Birthday to Asa!
- Wow ..... what a HANDSOME dude!! It has been a blessing to watch him grow up via your website. Thanks for sharing and thanks Asa for all the posing your mom makes you do. Jenny, as parents all we can do is to do what we think is the best in the moment. We all make mistakes and yet our kids somehow survive and thrive into adulthood. Who'da thunk it!!
- Thank you for the sweet words!
bridals and bridles
What an amazing session and bride-to-be Jamie was. She was truly one of the most adventurous girls I’ve met in a long time, complete with a heart the size of Texas. And just look at that gorgeous natural red hair. *swoon* When Jamie contacted me about incorporating her animals in her bridal portraits I knew...
- Jenny- Thank you so much for posting these! I am flabergasted at how awesome they are. I knew you were great, but I can't believe how much they express my and my animal's personality. Thank you for a wonderful bridal portrait session! Can't wait to work with you at the wedding! jamie
- I told you it is hard to take a bad picture of Jamie but even I am surprised at how magical the pictures are. They need to be in a national publication to show other brides what wonderful alternatives there are to "stand there and smile". Truly wonderful! Can't wait to see what creative things you do at the big event! kelly
- Jamie and Kelly, thank you! Your approval means so much. Thanks for trusting me :)

chicago baby
There is no better time in Chicago than right now. With warm days and cool nights you get to truly appreciate the spring season. My favorite kind of weather! And unfortunately here in Dallas we have about 2 days of spring weather…it goes straight from cold to HOT.
I went to Chicago to photograph this beautiful...
- So so precious! Beautiful!
- We were honored that Jenny took time out of her busy schedule to come to Chicago to do these amazing photos. We wanted something special and Jenny just got such beautiful pictures. She has such an amazing eye and really captured Emma's personality.
