Please excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor…but Southern Weddings Magazine featured Meredith & Patrick’s wedding on their blog!!

- It was a beautiful wedding! I loved the photos! Great job!
- Congrats!
- I'm glad more and more people are learning what an awesome photographer you are!
- Thanks!
- I hate to be the one to say 'told you so' but SISTER I TOLD YOU SO...Those photos are mindblowing. I am sooo proud of you!!! Meredith and Patrick are having quite the trip down memory land...again!
Today I took Asa to see Avatar… just the two of us. It was awesome! (both the movie AND our quality time) No baby sister to try to talk over or share attention with. He was so excited and had a little hop in his step as he held my hand into the theater. He also held my hand as we watched the movie. It was sweet. Asa will be 5 this May and I know my days are numbered with the hand holding business. Gosh I will miss that when it’s gone! Watching him grow up so fast scares the crap out of me, to put it bluntly. With every passing day he is becoming more and more independant and I just wish things could slow down. Unfortunately with this new found independance has come defiance. Lots and lots of defiance. Never ending defiance. Pull-your-hair-out defiance. Why-am-I-debating-with-a-4-year-old defiance. Ok you get the idea. He is a free spirit and rules be DAMNED he will do what he wants! Is it possible to be anti-establishment at the ripe ol’ age of 4? If not, I think we might have our first case here. lol. And much to his parents dismay, most days do consist of arguments, tantrums and timeouts. As any mother, I do worry about this. Are we doing the right things? Will this phase EVER pass? Do I need to call Super Nanny on his ass? Will he be a good boy when he grows up? Will he use his powers for good not evil? Will he still love his mother? These questions swirl in my brain constantly. Things have been tough with him, I’m not gonna lie. But today was good. Awesome in fact. It brought to light how much I adore this child. And really miss him. As much as I wish, children do not come with manuals. We do our best, take the good days with the bad, and hope and pray everything turns out right.

- What a sweet and angelic little face...my lovey dovey boy. He's just in a bad mood because he hasn't had any of Big Mom's gumbo for a while.
I photographed a lovely friend and her lovely bump last weekend. It’s so fun when your friends have babies. You get to relive some of that same excitement and anticipation from your own experience. What will she look like? How much will she weigh? When will she decide to come!? The day you deliver is amazing and scary and glorious and forever etched in your mind! I’m so happy for Erin & Payton! Just a few more weeks to go! I can’t wait! You guys will be AWESOME parents!

Tidbit: Erin is a yoga instructor!

Gorgeous!!!

You would never know it, but those last three shots she was freezing her butt off!! What a trooper! Enjoy your sneak peek Erin. Many more to come! Thanks for a great shoot!
- Erin looks so cute.
Hey Ya! Guess what I got? A Facebook Fan Page!! I know, I know a little presumptuous eh? ha! Well, I AM my only fan right now. Please help me feel less of a dork by stopping by and BECOME A FAN! I would really love it!
Oh also, I added a little widget thingy at the end of every post. So if you see a post that tickles your fancy just click it and automagically share it to your Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc… the list goes on!

I always enjoy looking at other photographers product shots so just thought I would show off these little brag books I made for Meredith & Patrick They came out so cute!

And a special THANKS to The Future Mrs Darcy for allowing me to use her design from Meredith & Patrick’s wedding invitation for the book cover.

Here are a few pages from the book layout.

I have more than one…
1. Enjoy my children more. They only have one childhood, I need to make it count.
2. Keep the house clean! (close to impossible though)
3. Improve my lighting skills.

What will 2010 bring this family? I’m anxious and hopeful for a positive year because it’s going to get interesting. Lots of life changes on the horizon.
- I have a feeling #2 will interfere with #1... perhaps you should resolve to keep the house cleaner. That way, not impossible! ha
- Ha! Yeah no kidding.
This should be sung in your best Chris Farley. lol. Chloe got her first pair of skinny jeans….and she could barely walk in them they were so tight! Dang she’s cute, huh!?

I had to go find this. Sorry I couldn’t resist. I really miss this guy! One of my favorite comedians ever! rip

We were surprised with snow here in Big D on Christmas Eve making this my very first white Christmas. It was awesome! Here are a couple of snaps. This is our backyard. And our dog who was literally frolicking in the snow. hehe. I wish I had caught that on video. For an old dog he still has so much puppy in him.

Chloe was quite determined to march straight towards that busy street. No matter how many times I yelled STOP and tried to turn her around she went right back. march, march, march. Kids just get stuck on things, don’t they? And here is Asa squeezing the life out of a neighbor’s new puppy. I tried so hard to get a shot of just the puppy in the snow but Asa was not having it. Nope. I’m pretty sure I heard him say “‘I want to hug you and love you and squeeze you into itty bitty pieces!” lol…anybody else used to watch tiny toons?

I know, I know. This is just a mommy shot. But THIS is what makes the stress of christmas all worth it. This expression right here. The look of pure amazement on your child’s face on Christmas morning.

And this expression I have conflictions about. All the boys at school are into Power Rangers. We’ve resisted for as long as we could but decided to give in…a little anyway. It was inevitable, he’s a boy! Weapons and fighting are in their dna. And he actually ASKED for this outfit for Christmas. Anytime someone woud ask him what he wanted for Christmas he would say “a red ranger suit” lol..what a strange wish. So it was hard to resist NOT getting it for him. He has worn it every day since christmas.

Santa also brought us some very interesting candy this year. candy leggos! Pretty cool huh?
And our xmas card. Well, actually just the inside. I did a tri-fold this year and love the way it came out!
This was the inside flap.

I hope everyone has a great New Year. Be safe!
- Does your card say "The McCann clan" on it? That is too funny! When I was addressing your card the other day, I wanted to write that! But I thought you might think I was strange. Ha!
- Great pics of a great Christmas! I love the Christmas card and have shown it to every poor soul who crossed my threshold...it got rave reviews! (Naturally!) I am proud that Asa is saving all of us in his Red Ranger gear and that Chloe will be the next Lady GaGa...Frankie looks like a pup in the snow...who knew? Have fantastic New Year....Love to all you McCanns....
- Lacey, yep. McCann clan. It's an Irish thing isn't it? lol. Thanks Ms Claudia! We love you too! & miss you terribly!
A few weeks ago I assisted a photographer friend of mine at a very small and sweet little wedding in Dallas. The wedding had minimal details so I really tried to focus on the portraits. Here are a few of my favorites…

This ring bearer was such a funny little dude! *wink*
